Eddie graduated from the United States Naval Academy in May of 2004 going on to serve his country with pride and dignity.
2003: In his final year at the USNA, senior linebacker Eddie Carthan was named first-team All-East by the Division I
head coaches that make up the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC). Carthan, a co-captain this year, recorded 79 tackles
and a team-high 13.5 tackles for a loss this year. He also led the Mids in sacks (5) and tied for the lead in interceptions
(4). Carthan's best game came against Central Michigan where he recorded 12 tackles, four tackles for a loss and two sacks.
He had nine tackles against TCU and Notre Dame and was in on eight stops against Rutgers and Army. His efforts were a key
factor in leading the Midshipmen towards winning the Commander-In-Chief's Trophy for the first time since 1981 and playing
in a bowl game for the first time since 1996.
2002: As a junior, finished up the year with 74 tackles including a career high 13 against Wake Forest. Twice he attained
10 tackles, against Duke and Tulane. Against the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, Eddie recorded 6 tackles, 2 for a loss and
one sack, along with a fumble recovery.
2001: In his second year at the Academy he started the first 6 games before an injury sidelined him, winding up his total
at 36 tackles on the year with a season high 9 against the Air Force Academy.
2000: Freshman year he tallied 21 tackles in starting 6 games with a season high of 6 tackles in the TCU game.
